Grandma Moses renowned American folk artist, began painting in her 70's after a career in embroidery. She celebrated her 100th birthday on September 7, 1960, She lived to be 101 years of age. President Truman presented her the Women's National Press Club Award for accomplishment in art in 1949, and in 1951 she appeared on a television program hosted by Edward R. Murrow.
