Who is Our Santa? Robert Ayres is a father of three, an actor, singer, artist and writer of children's stories who lives in Northern California with his two cats and countless imaginary elves, ogres, reindeer and other creatures and characters. He began his portrayal of Santa Claus when a perceptive friend sized him up one day during the Christmas holidays and said, You'd make a great Santa! He has since been Santa Claus to thousands of children in every imaginable venue. He finished film work in Summer 2004 in the starring role of Santa Claus in a musical feature length film. His voice-overs, for third largest toymaker LeapFrog Toys, have been heard and enjoyed by millions of children around the world. Cast as the voice of Leap's Grandpa, he was featured, along with narrator Whoopi Goldberg, in the original series of LeapPad talking storybooks. He went on to create and perform countless other character voices as well as narrations for other LeapFrog projects and for LeapFrog collaborations with such well known children's book creators as Richard
Scarry, Dr. Seuss and the Arthur, and Bob the Builder animations. He is the primary narrator of LeapFrog's IQuest handheld for middle schoolers and most recently performed the narrator role for a Walt Disney/LeapFrog collaboration titled Disney Princesses for nursery and elementary school age children. A classically trained singer, his rich baritone, defines the voice of Santa Claus. To many, he is indeed, The Quintessential Santa!
What if my child's name is not common or has an unusual or difficult pronunciation? Santa will do his best to pronounce each child's name properly. If you know that your child's name is often mispronounced or may be mispronounced by speakers of American English, then please provide us with either a phonetic pronunciation or a descriptive rhyme of the name in the same location on the "Order DVD" page where you enter the child's name. When and if we are completely stumped by the pronunciation of your child's name, we will contact you by email for further consultation.
How many children can Santa Claus speak to in each video message? Santa can speak to one individual child or two children per video message. In a two child message, each child will receive equal recognition from Santa in the message and receive their own personalized and autographed photo of Santa.
